Recognition of Prior Learning

What it is:

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a means of assessment by which individuals can have their prior qualifications and informal learning formally recognised by documenting their experience against Performance Criteria of each Competency to gain credit for skills and knowledge they already have!

How it works:

RPL assessment relies on the same process for conducting assessments but there is a greater reliance on indirect (i.e. formal qualifications) and/or supplementary (supervisor's report) forms of evidence.

These forms of evidence are used to determine whether the applicant has achieved the required competence toward a particular formal qualification and to identify any gaps that need filling with extra training or coaching.

Extra training or coaching requires direct evidence such as observations, questions and/or performing set tasks.  Verification of the authenticity of evidence collected and presented is paramount.

Our process of RPL:

KASE Enterprises has developed an RPL Booklet that each applicant is required to fill out and provide evidence for.  This book must be signed off by your supervisor(s), once this booklet is adequately completed and signed off, a copy should be held by the applicant and the original with original or verified copies of supporting documentation is to be retained by KASE.

An individual interview will be conducted between the applicant and an assessor from KASE Enterprises at a time convenient to our assessors and the applicant.

To request a copy of an RPL Booklet please contact our administration.
